Nordix Association Privacy Policy

The Nordix Association is a member-supported not-for-profit foundation with the goal to encourage the growth of local open source communities, helping people and organizations learn how to benefit from open source innovation and effectively participate in the global open source ecosystem. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use and if relevant distribute your personal information. It is in our greatest interest to not during any circumstances use your information without your consent.

Nordix Association is an open source community, operating on code and materials under the terms of various open source and open content licenses. As such when you as an open source developer or collaborator participate in development or editorial activities your personal information in the form of your user account will be made public according to the terms of these licenses and the methodologies of the Nordix Association. Examples of licenses used in Nordix Association activity includes but is not limited to: Apache 2.0, CCBY4.0, Eclipse 2.0.

Information collection and use

While using our sites, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name and e-mail (“Personal Information”). Unless otherwise specified we will not make this information available to any 3rd parties and will endeavour to secure the information from any loss or theft.

Personal information for the purpose of communication

Communication at the Nordix Association occurs through mailing lists. You as an individual are able to subscribe to, or remove yourself from these mailing lists at any time. Your subscription to a mailing list is not public information. You may choose to make your details publicly known by emailing to the list, or otherwise informing of your participation. We will use mailing lists to distribute newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other event related content.

Personal information for the purpose of event participation

If you register for a Nordix Association event, we may ask for your consent to share your personal information with third party sponsors and other participants; for example, to facilitate your ability to swipe your badge to easily sign up for or participate in activities, events and gifts offered by third parties participating in the event, or to give you the option to be listed on the attendee list that is available to other attendee, sponsors and participants.

Personal information for the purpose of accessing Nordix services

When registering on any of our services or websites your information will be stored. Your registration is not public information and is not used by the Nordix Association for any purpose than to allow you access to Nordix services. All account information is stored encrypted, where secrets are not known to any but the owner of them. We may contact you directly in relation only to the services you are registered to use including; planned upgrades, account items, service discontinuity, etc.

Personal information for the purpose of maintaining Nordix services

Log Data

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site (“Log Data”). The Nordix Association does not distribute nor share this log data with any third parties and uses the data for the purpose of maintaining Nordix services.
